The operating system for human consciousness

Sapiens OS · Constitutio Intermundia is an open constitution that a society runs on, the way a computer runs on its operating system. Every rule names what it measures, every decision leaves a public record, and a rule that fails is corrected in the open. The same rules carry from a local gathering to planetary settlements and interplanetary communication.

What is this, really

Sapiens OS is not software for machines but a shared set of rules that humans run together. Its constitution, Constitutio Intermundia, is Latin for “constitution between worlds”, because the same text is meant to hold on Earth and beyond it.

  1. localOne Node: people who share a rulebook, a meter and a ledger.
  2. planetaryNodes link as peers. None rules another, and any can fork.
  3. interplanetaryThe same rules hold on the Moon, on Mars and in orbit, wherever people settle and signal each other.

Version v1.12.3 is public on GitHub, free to read, use and fork. Sapiens OS is in its early stages, and its road plan aims for it to become fully decentralised, with no single point of control or failure.

Picture a small settlement sharing power from its solar panels and wind turbines. A signed meter turns each kilowatt-hour of surplus into one ESU on an open ledger, so everyone can see what was produced, what was used and what is left. If a rule leaves households short, any member can check the ledger and propose a change. If another settlement writes a better version, it can fork it and offer it back.

One root: the Prime Directive

It is the sole root of authority. Every act answers three questions, and the constitution itself sits under the same test. Work that claims to move things forward must clear all three.

Preserve human flourishing and ordered complexity; increase net energy; eliminate waste and parasitism; armor the mind against dogma.

Three layers in every clause

Pactum explains, Codex governs, LEX executes. Every clause carries its reason, its full rule and one short line that anyone can check.

Change it in the open

Every law is a module that can be audited, updated or removed without breaking the root. Changes are proposed in the open, each release takes the next number, and a group that can stand on its own may fork.
